How to choose the right size of photos for printing

This photo format is used more often than others, because the inserts in classic photo albums are designed specifically for it. There is a huge number of frames for such photos. Photos of this format are familiar and look good in albums with glued binding.

To find out what size in centimeters the photos will be, imagine a sheet of paper from a school notebook. This format is no less common and is often used vertically oriented for printing portraits of individuals and couples. Well suited for tabletop photo frames.
20*30
The format is applicable for printing high-quality photos for placement in tabletop and wall frames or use as posters in the interior. The size is almost equal to a standard A4 sheet. Photo books with this photo format are often wedding, anniversary themed.
30*40
This type of photo is suitable for a small wall poster, canvas or photo in a frame. The size of the pictures reaches A3 sheet. With good quality, they look great and will become an accent element of any interior.
42*59
Large format goes beyond the standard photo paper and is printed only in printing houses using wide-format printing. It will help advertise an event or product. In this size, photos of large groups of people and posters look wonderful.
59*84
Photos and posters printed in this size on canvas and various papers for inkjet printing serve as interior decoration. If a frame with glass is used, it makes sense to print on matte paper, which will not glare in the frame.
84*119
The largest standard size, equal in area to 1 m2. Suitable for large walls of houses and apartments. Photos printed on canvas and framed in frames look like real paintings.
Beyond the standard
Square photos (20×20, 40×40, etc.), large photos (40×60, etc.), 13×18, and other unpopular formats are beyond the standard. The modern industry offers frames for any size that is possible in principle. So this is not a problem. You can also order a baguette picture frame for custom sizes. And the printing house will take care of the printing.
Also, non-standard photos include wide-format photographs with sides that are very large in width and relatively small in length.
To choose the format that suits you, decide on the purpose of printing (where the photo will go – in an album, frame, for advertising, interior decor, etc.). You should also remember such a parameter as photo resolution – it is measured in pixels or dpi (dots per inch). If the resolution is low, then when printing in a large format, the photo will look blurry and grainy, such quality will not suit anyone.
